Last Day To Enter! Readers Projects: Amanda Talley And My First Giveaway

The Skirted Roundtable had a really good broadcast about the pros and cons of contests and giveaways. I have never done one, but after listening to Linda, Joni, and Megan, I thought why not - it sounds like fun! So here's the first Visual Vamp Giveaway featuring artist and fellow blogger, Amanda Talley.

New Orleans supreme chick artist Amanda Talley has moved into some new residential digs!

Every Southern girl loves monogram pillows from Leontine Linens where Amanda Talley got hers

She scored a cute carriage house in The Garden District close to her First Street studio.

Amanda Talley covered the seats of these Chippendale chairs discarded by the previous tenant

Casa Sugar did a great post about it, and you can see more pictures HERE.

Every girl has a bar set up in her New Orleans digs

Amanda's paintings are on everyone's wish list.

So for my first Visual Vamp Giveaway I am choosing a small (approximately 8 x X 10), but perfect gem of an Amanda Talley painting for you!!!!

To win:

1. Go to Amanda Talley and choose a painting you would buy if money were no object

2. Come back to this post and leave a comment and tell us all which (by name of the painting) one you would love to own - Remember this is a fantasy and not the painting you will get!

3. Send me a photo of the room you would like to hang it in - e-mail mizvtheb@yahoo.com

4. Photos will be shared in a future Readers Projects when the winner in announced

The small gem of an Amanda Talley painting in the bedroom of Visual Vamp
It's hung near my nightstand, at eye level
It's the first thing I see when I open my eyes
The winner of The Visual Vamp Giveaway will get a similar Amanda Talley painting

  6. I ama huge Amanda fan, and am lucky enough to own one of her paintings. However, a little gem would be great...

Money no object, I would pick Cele.

I rarely enter giveaways, but entered one recently on Ragland Hill Social, and won 3 Leontine linen napkins - maybe my winning streak will continue with this one!

    Great idea for a giveaway.

  29. I so am in love with everything. But my favorite is Cele. If I won it I would give it to my very generous father in-law. He loves modern art work and he also gives so much to not only our family but to others that I feel he would deserve such a lovely piece to look at. I think it would look so wonerful in the dining room which sits next to the spectacular view of the sea.

  32. Gosh! There are so many I love! But if I have to narrow it down it would be Twine, which just happens to be the one in her Living Room photo I think.I love the black and white ones, and Twine seems to have a tiny bit of aqua in it too. What a talent! Thanks for spreading the word!

  33. I ADORE the monogram pillows - and the chic bar set-up on the butler's tray! Very nice!!

  36. By the way, Talley's home zings the strings of my heart. I could walk right in and live there without changing a thing.

  41. . . . or maybe of the hallway which is still the wrong color and loaded with patches because we moved our bedroom door eleven feet. But I am planning to fill the entire hallway with all black, white, and brown artwork.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow what a great giveaway. Amanda's work is really the only artwork I have said I gotta buy one day. I wanted a gold/cream one I saw on her blog one day but am not seeing on her sight. Love "Thistle" too. This would go in my bedroom and I think it too will go where I can see it first thing everymorning when I wake up.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, what a great giveaway!! To win one of Amanda's paintings would make my day. I would pick Freesia, I am such a blue person, it is perfect for me and would go in just about any room in my house!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thistle. I daresay I covet it.....every time I stop by Amanda's site for inspiration, I just marvel at that beauty. I'd kick my living room portrait to the curb if I thought Thistle would take its place. :)

  45. am i too late? i certainly hope not! i would choose celedonia and give it to my wonderful new orleans friend who is getting married in april. she and her sweet fiance went back after katrina; my husband and i did not and we miss them so!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm probably too late, but I've been wanting one of Amanda's paintings since I first saw them. Narrowing my favorite down to one is the hardest part of this challenge, because I love them all!! I suppose Freesia, Philip Street & Napoleon are my favorites.

  47. Beki - You're not too late!!!
    Still accepting last minute entries!
    Thanks!

  48. After stopping in her gallery a few months ago, I fell in love with Amanda's framed drawings. She had them hung as a pair and together they made quite a statement. I do not recall the name of the particular drawings. However, if money were of no object, I would choose "Philip Street." For some reason I am drawn to the turquoises and sea blues. It must have something to do with being a water sign!

    ReplyDelete
  49. "Primrose" That's the one. It is stunning and would be the perfect replacement for the antique granny needlepoint screen above my fireplace.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If money is no object (or I have a bucket of money), I would pick Celedonia AND Santa Fe. I think Celedonia will be perfect for my living room and Santa Fe would be for my office above fireplace. What an exciting giveaway. Now I'm off to take some photos of the room.

  51. I commented above on Saturdays post, not trying to score two trys, just trying to make sure I am in right place. The ones up to win are really just as amazing (size doesn't matter, right?)

    ReplyDelete
  52. "Cele" though I love, love them all. I was introduced to Amanda's work awhile ago through a New Orleans friend. Will be there next week, hope to check out her studio. Great giveaway, thank you!
