Emily's Room Emily rocked it even with losing her voice and having to do her TV segment sounding like Minnie Mouse.
Oh yeah, in case you don't watch TV, I am referring to HGTV Design Star last night.
Final two: Emily and Michael.
Emily on her blog
The Brass Petal, Jenny from
MFAMB, and
Design Blahg will give you all the details.
I have been on Team Emily from the get go!
Have you been watching, and are you on Team Emily?
LOVED IT! Team Emily all the way!
ReplyDeleteFinally a challenge where we could see their talents. Emily has always been my favorite. She just looks like a "star". I loved her room. It was by far the best. I don't know why they keep Michael, do you? What was with his room.....and why did he spend all that time on a murphy bed for a sun room. I think the best thing in his space were the vinyl images. He better not beat out our "Emily."
ReplyDeletecongrats to Emily!
ReplyDeleteUh, those were wall decals, more hated than foo dogs ha ha in the design world.
ReplyDeleteHis room was dark and dreary and junky.
HGTV already has two Design Star men, David Bromstad (studly gay guy) and Antonio (flopping with the man cave design point of view because duh women and gay guys watch HGTV and don't want to decorate their house to look like a car shop).
So I really hope Emily wins!
And it's a great blogger success story!
Emily reminds me of a petite version of Jenny MFAMB (who I love), and I think Jenny should audition for Design Star.
xo xo
Love her and love her style. Her designs dont' feel "contrived" ;), and they have character...not a Trading Spaces feel. Not thrilled with the show though...haven't been watching every episode...too annoying, but I did check in last night, towards the end, and it was just enough.
ReplyDeleteWhile Emily's was the best, really they're all kind of blah. I mean, you have a cool, cool space--a glass box and, even better, no actual client to complain that the t.v. is too far away or that Ralph's recliner has to stay in the Belgian living room etc., your choice of color scheme and no need for practial concerns (electronics, cleanability, timelessness) --what a chance for some fantasy and creativity--a gazebo dining room, fabulous girly dressing room, even a fantastic teahouse/reading retreat--and we get two standard issue living rooms right out of lonny and an ugly ass dorm room.
ReplyDeleteOops...I was watching food network star...too many stars!

yaaaaay! emily. chant it.
ReplyDeleteyaaaaay! emily. chant it.
ReplyDeleteFinally, we got to see what she can do. I've said she was the dark horse fav from the beginning. I've been a bit disappointed in the season...still too much arts and crafts for me. This last challenge finally showed some design work! Go Emily!
ReplyDeleteOh...I haven't been watching. But, I trust your judgement...so Team Emily it is! I spy a cowhide!!!!!

I don't watch television, but wish I could see this show. I've really gotten hooked on Emily's blog and her write-ups of the show. Go Emily!!!
ReplyDeleteShe NAILED it! I would love to watch her show!
ReplyDeleteTeam Emily hands down!!
ReplyDeleteI've loved Emily from the very beginning as well - I definitely thought her portfolio was the best!
