The Brooklyn Flea! The Return Of The Great Flea Market Tradition in NYC!
There are many great legendary flea markets of the world. Puces in Paris. Portobello Road in London. Rastro in Madrid. Georgetown in Washington, DC. There's a great one in Libson. There used to be a great one in Buenos Aires. There used to be a really really great one in NYC - The 26th Street Flea Market, but they paved paradise and put up a condo. I never missed a Sunday at the 26th Street Flea, and I really, really missed and mourned it, when it shut down. Soon the Antique Garage on 25th Street will be closing too.
But now the folks from brownstoner.com HERE have organized the new Brooklyn Flea!
The Flea will take place every Sunday—10 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine—at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, on Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues. Vendors change from week to week, selling everything from vintage furniture, clothing and antiques to new designs by local makers of everything from jewelry to textiles.
WhooooHooooo!!!!
