My wonderful designer friend Michael Pelkey did this on his tiny back deck in Key West. He collected each shell, and glued each shell on, one at a time. The fountain head was a cast off his brother schlleped from somewhere, and Michael added the big half clam shell, and all the rest of it.
It's a delightful folly. Spring brings a plethora of contrived beachy images in catalogs and decor magazines, so Michael's insane project is refreshing.
