The last time it snowed was Christmas Day 2004
Christmas Day 2004 New Orleans
Before that it had not snowed for 25 years!
Snow in New Orleans 1989
Schools close, businesses close, the local news runs coverage all day, and everyone takes the day off. No one owns winter coats or boots, or a snow shovel. No one knows how to drive in it. And it's nearly over before it even gets going. But we all rush to the streets with the video camera, and we party and act like happy lunatics. Below is a video the hubs made this morning.
Please take a look, and we hope you enjoy our snow day New Orleans style!
Our grandson Dylan (and his daddy and mommy too) are visiting, so it's like Christmas Day to us!

Yay for snow! I'm glad someone had a happy Christmas in '04! I could write an entire book on that particular one.
ReplyDeleteAn enchanting video !
ReplyDeleteNever seen a pink flamingo in the snow before and your dog looked a little disorientated :)
Staying home looks like the best plan.
And I thought I was cold !
best wishes

How fun for all of you! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWow! How fun for you! We get plenty of snow in Ohio each winter, but all we got today were some gray clouds and rain. I love a good snow day. It's a perfect excuse to stay in my pj's past noon, drinking hot chocolate and being as unproductive as possible. Enjoy it! :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG... I LOVED that sweet video segment!!! What a great E-Card!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, Nawlins in a snow globe. Perfect!!

Snow, snow everywhere! Even here in Baton Rouge! Last time it snowed at Christmas everyone in New Orleans was stuck and couldn't get up here for dinner -- except for 2 who did make it. So...we just did Christmas dinner again on the 26th for the rest of the crew. What fun!! Snow just makes everything better --unless you are in Utah and have 17 inches on the ground!
