Rushed

You know how it is...Rushed and still wanting to post.
Flipped through the current Lonny with my coffee, and chose a few great ideas.

Mod-Trad Christmas

The New York apartment of Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kocher - It's nice to see an article by them since they have been too busy to blog on a regular basis

V is for Vamp! At least in my mind's eye ha ha

A Union Jack ceiling!!!

A desk under a desk! Kind of genius layering

Books over a door frame - Great idea even if you live in a larger space than this nifty studio apartment

Painted parquet floor in black - LOVE it in theory, but I know it will need constant cleaning

Working on a mo' better best for you to post in a day or two...

Online Shelter Magazines Are Huge This Month

The top three online shelter magazines, rue, House of Fifty, and Lonny, have all dropped their May issues. And each one put out huge issues with lots of pages and good content. It's really been a treat to spend time looking at them all.

Lots of reading to do this month in the online magazines - I spy Debra Shriver's book Stealing Magnolias in this picture in Lonny - Stealing Magnolias is the best book about New Orleans, to gift or to keep for yourself

Lonny focused on road trip to Morocco, and there is a huge feature on Maryam of the blog My Marrakesh. Her house is amazing. And I love the piece on Jamie Meares too.

Jamie Meares in  Lonny - I love this Jackie print - I had no wall space for it so I got a client to get it!

Of course I was so happy to be included in rue, and House of Fifty, and loved the rest of the content in both magazines.

So happy to be in rue - A corner in my bedroom

There are tons of take-way ideas in all three magazines, so hunker down and read them all.

I have had two sheets of the same handmade paper for two years, as  seen on the back wall in this room by Jamie Meares - The take away idea is how to frame them, shown here floating on linen with a pretty silver frame

And vote for Jenny today HERE

Lonny Dropped in New Orleans

Valorie Hart, Jack Mayberry, Michelle Adams and Patrick Cline from Lonny,
and Caroline Robert owner of perch., photographed in perch. in New Orleans

It has been hush-hush for months that Lonny was coming to New Orleans! The publishing world is like that. emails flew back and forth, scouting for places to shoot and things to do, and the results are in the May 2011 issue of Lonny.

Two features I really love: Page 53, on overview of New Orleans, and then page 108 a gorgeous feature called Historic Style.

Michelle is a darling young woman, and Patrick is a genius photographer. He still shoots film instead of digital, and his photos are all the more amazing for it.
