Preservation Resource Shotgun House Tour
It's the day before the house tour and I am working like ten field hands, and Alberto is working like at least five. Just taking a break between washing windows, and plowing the back forty to share a video link (that Alberto made) with you of how the house looked when we first viewed it with the real estate agents. Talk about staging for a sale!
We are going to run it on loop on the TV in the living room tomorrow during the tour. I hate how a TV not turned on looks like a black hole, so this video will be "art" and be informative ha ha. I hope you enjoy it, and happy weekend! And if you are in New Orleans stop by for the tour. I have some surprise guests as my docents.

ReplyDeleteOh what fun! I watched the entire video and am so happy that house landed in your happy hands!
ReplyDeleteI know you and Alberto have put a whole lot of lovin into that house to make it your home sweet home.

Your home tour should be called Miracle on Washington St. What a transformation. Have fun this week-end.
ReplyDeleteValerie, what you and Alberto have accomplished together in your home is truly amazing. Anyone, including your average housewife, can decorate on a large budget, but as you often say, you decorated on a "shopgirl's budget. It speaks volumes about your vision and creativity, and I must say your courage as well in taking on this project. You have done an amazing job. Wish I could be there to enjoy it in person.
ReplyDeletefound out about the tour via your blog and, of course, toured thruough your home 1st....FABU! the other homes were lovely, but yours was the best...met Gigi and her daughter at the door and i'm determined to get your help with my dining room...woman, u got style galore and a phenom eye...loved it!!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to meet you last weekend! If we had only been there this weekend...we could have done the tour!! Oh well...loved Alberto's video & what you have accomplished with the house & yard is amazing. Job extremely well done! So cool that he made that video when you first saw the house. Hope all goes well with the tour...we are going on one today in Houston in the Heights. Lot of work to get ready to share your love of home but the lurkers out here appreciate it!!
ReplyDeleteHi Valorie!
ReplyDeleteSaw the video, wow you have really made a beautiful transformation! If I were there I would love to take the tour.... Hope is is a success and you raise a bunch of moola. Maryanne xo
Hi! Took the tour yesterday. Your house is so cute and you are very crafty. Good job.
ReplyDeleteyes - for a party too -nothing worse than a black hole of the tv. The past few times I played pretty movies on mute with music playing -sort of art. You'd be surprised how many people stil watched these silent movies! I played 'room with a view' at one gathering and the new 'brideshead revisited' at another!
