Candle light. Nothing more romantic or homey. Have you ever had an un-electrified chandelier, or maybe wall sconces? How did you deal with the dripping wax? I was once the candle queen! I had a chandelier and sconces with candles, and candle sticks everywhere. I guess I was inspired by the 18th century, loving the idea of hand written notes, low cut dresses, lots of candle light, and huge wigs - you know all the stuff of a cheap novel.
Lots of candle lighting is still going this week to continue celebrating Hanukkah (The Festival of Lights). I started a Hanukkah gift roundup the other day with the theme of giving gifts with the theme light, and I started with giving the gift of enlightenment. So today's it is all about actually giving the gift of light.
These little owl candles are so cute, and would please someone of any age. Get them to give HERE
These "Year Of Wishes" message candles are pretty and clever. It's a years worth of inspiration. Whoever you give these to, will think of you all year long. Get them HERE
And what about giving someone special a chic chandelier? I still like this look of a sexy sheer shade over the chandelier, and it comes in white too, and it is a big look for a little money. Really. Go HERE to see.
And while we are giving gifts of light, this pin-up sconce requires no special wiring - just plug it in and you're good to go. A pair of them would be wonderful, and they are priced so you can afford two HERE
I just love the way candles look in a room. Almost any style decor is enhanced by candle light.
Using lots of candles certainly sets a mood, doesn't it?
I mean, how pretty is this? Candles even enhance mother nature.
Here's another cute Hanukkah gift: A box of eggs that are actually soy candles! The blue ribbon is prefect and precious! Get a half dozen HERE
I love these bust candles! A Hanukkah gift doesn't have to cost a fortune. Give one of each. You could almost use your Hanukkah gelt to pay for them HERE
And what Hanukkah would be complete without a string of Hanukkah lights! Wrap them up in a pretty package, and give a set to everyone at your table HERE
And last but not least is this adorable flower bloom clip on light, perfect for all the bookworms you know. Get several to give HERE
So that's my Hanukkah gift roundup for today. I have one more to do in a couple of days, as we come to the close of the Festival of Lights.
Happy Hanukkah y'all!

Valorie,
ReplyDeleteLove candles. I have a whole French buffet that is mostly full of candles. I already have the little black owls. I got them for Halloween a couple of years ago, maybe somewhere in NOLA. Can't remember. Hope your day is good and well.
Talk soon.

based on my experience, the melted wax goes on to good linens, fine wood surfaces, and expensive throws and toss pillows.....
ReplyDeleteNever enough candles for me ! At dinner the kids cannot seem to leave the melted wax alone ... a source of entertainment I suppose ! Happiest of Holidays to you ! xoxo lisa
ReplyDeleteI love your round-up! And even better that it's in honor of the Festival of Lights. Happy Hanukkah to you. What a pleasure to discover a fellow member of "the tribe." ;0)
ReplyDeleteI totally WANT the fabulous bust candles...the black is particularly dramatic. I wonder if they take chocolate gelt? I'll be in your beautiful city this weekend and I hope to make it by your wonderful store this time. Any stops that I should not miss? Thanks for sharing!
Great choices for lighting and candles. I love the little owls too! So cute.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I don't know where the melting was goes, that's why I asked you!
ReplyDeleteWell it actually spatters and drips, and it is a huge clean up project, but worth the romantic candle light.
And thanks for the Happy Hanukkah wishes, though I'm not Jewish, nor do I celebrate this wonderful holiday.
But I have many Jewish friends, and I love any reason to suggest cute gifts and places to shop.

ReplyDeleteHi Valorie- Had trouble leaving a comment on your wonderful blog, but I use clear glass bobeches under my candles to protect things that are valuable or not fireproof. Nearly invisible, they are easy to clean and work wonderfully. No messy drips for me! They should be easy to find in NOLA. All the best and Happy Hanukkah.
